Inspiration Board F/W '10

I've decided to turn my ordinary cork board covered with memorabilia into a fashion inspiration board. I'm planning on changing this one soon but in the meantime I'm going to start creating a new header for Dragon Queen! Now back to my inspiration board, here are some shots taken.

Check out the left bottom corner, see those swirly beaded decorations? I made them out of beads and wire, they're actually really fun and easy to make! I'm started creating a whole bunch for an upcoming photo shoot and many of them are hanging around the house and outside.

I've been going for a lot of soft earthy colors lately like light pinks, cream colors and some different colors of purple and wearing a lot of jewelry. I like to call it 'hippie vibes'.

Featuring more things that were given to me (like the green beaded 'respect' bracelet and the fashion sketch postcard from Stephens) and things that I made (the gold pin with white feathers, top right and the orange clip with black feathers bottom left).

If you can read it its an awesome fashion poem I cut out of Vogue based off the poem How Do I Love Thee? by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, just a slight change of words :)

And last, a couple of my creations to go with the whole hippie vibes, which is now over and done with due to the snow I saw this morning when I woke up! Time to photograph and catch some new vibes and I hope everyones enjoying the snow!

Amazing jewelry I found in this book I rented from the library, I wonder if people still do that? Rent books from the library? Anyway, some more sketches, and some non-legitimate outfit posts because I had no one to photograph me that day! Scroll!

Collar-style necklaces, they were very inspiring!

Bracelets from the 1950s

And last, a necklace I made.

Close-ups

Here are some close-up shots of a few of my outfits from the past week! I had a couple really good finds. A red leather & suede jacket by Zac Posen for Target, some blue tights with a velvet tiger on them, a gold vintage shirt, and a large multicolored sweater!

Fall Leaves

Fall is my most favorite season, the fashions always great and the weather is beautiful! I photographed some of the changes in leaves.

The view from my bedroom window. Beautiful!

More later!

Your a Stephens Star!

I had a wonderful time on my college visit! They have an amazing fashion design program that brings people from all over the fashion industry to the college! Here are some pictures, mostly from downtown Columbia.

Note* This picture isn't mine. I got it off Google images, I really wanted a shot of the tattoo shop but couldn't get one because it was so dark when I first saw it!

Best,
Katie

Roooooooad Triiiiip!

Yes! Friday I'm leaving St. Louis to go visit a college in Columbia! I'm so excited. I love road trips, and I LOVE taking pictures along the way, and sketching, and drawing! I'm so excited and I hope I get to go to this college to pursue my dream of designing shoes, jewelry, and maybe some clothes! I'll be taking plenty of pictures! This college has had some great fashion people from all over come to it, sure it's no F.I.T in New York but it's good enough for me!

Best,
Katie

Outfit Shots

I've been really into wearing a lot of necklaces and long skirts (not together) recently. So I hit up the local goodwill and got a ton of long skirts, more pictures to come I promise. Due to the chilly weather today I am NOT going outside! I'm going to sit inside all day, draw & sketch, and drink hot coco with my best friend! But here are some pictures I took on Sunday of this really cool blue/turquoise skirt I purchased.

Worn with my moms "snake" belt.

Some of my favorite necklaces. Very top: gold spike necklace, a plastic necklace that I call my "cookie necklace" because it kind of looks like a chocolate chip cookie, a stone necklace my godmother gave me, and a gold bow necklace that died (chain broke and is un-fixable!) a couple hours after I took this picture. R.I.P
